The October meeting was held October 20, at Wynfromere farm, home of
Natalie Howard.  The business meeting started at 7:30 pm,

Minutes of the September meeting were read and approved.
The treasurer's report was read, $996 in the general account, with a $3000 CD.

Nominations for officers were opened and officers elected:
President: Lorinda Lhotka
Vice President: Walt Brunner
Secretary: Jean Ernest
Treasurer: Cynde Wilde-Sullivan

Lorinda talked about goals for the club: attracting more members,  planning
some projects for trails, etc. Purchase of books and videos on trail riding
and equestrian subjects was suggested. Having a program for the meetings
was discussed.  Jean Ernest suggested showing some videos about trail
riding, packing and related topics. Jean will pick up the videos by the
Buckskin Outfitters from the library for the next meeting.

The tax exempt status of the club was discussed: does it have to be renewed
each year?

some possible Rides for next summer were discussed:
The new Compeau trail  is a good  possibility, the trail head takes off at
29.5 mile CHSR Right before Twin Bears camp.  Is there a water source?
Project suggested; Look for water source near trail, put in a sump to
collect water for the horses.

Purchase of materials for hitching posts, fire rings  was proposed.  We
need the specs for hitching posts, etc.  Bev Nester said there is a book on
specs for Hitch Rails, etc,  one was given to Anna Plager but  Bev has a copy.

More new business:  New Park on South Cushman,  "Tanana Lakes Recreation
Area"   Suggested equestrians have in-put.

Next meeting will be November 17,   we will plan the Christmas party.
